I am white. I am a Christian. I am a pastor.
I pastor an integrated church.
I don’t love my white brothers and sisters or my black brothers and sisters…
I love my brothers and sisters.
I love America. We just celebrated on July 4th our freedom and liberty...but this week I am saddened. I hurt because racism still lurks in our nation, and it keeps us in bondage.
I wish I could tell you differently, but the reality is there is a burning anger that fills our land.
This division will only be overcome through righteousness and love. And for this to happen in our land, it must first take place in our churches.
I’m not here trying to just give a pat on the back and shrug this off, or offer an easy solution to all the ails of our culture.
The truth be told, I don’t know what all needs to be said…more than I have room for on this FB post.
But I do still believe in the power of the cross. I am not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ. It still changes lives today. It changed mine.
Someone asked this question in the Bible: “Am I my brothers’ keeper?” The answer is “Yes!” Peace my family.
