HE HAS CALLED YOU... (I Peter 2:9)
Jesus has called you, NOT to just slip slide your way into "glory"....
He has NOT called you to pray lukewarm prayers and ask for prayer that you just barely make it in...
He has NOT called you to tie a knot at the end of the proverbial rope and hold on by the skin of your teeth...
He has NOT called you to wave a white flag of surrender to your adversary...
He has NOT called you to defeat...
He has called you to be the light of the world...
He's called you to be the salt of the earth...
He's called you to be a city on a hill...
He has called you to pray in His name...
He's called you to set the captives free...
He's called you to cast out devils...
He's called you to heal the sick...
He's called you to be an overcomer...
He's called you to victory...
YES...HE HAS CALLED YOU!!!
(Go ahead and shout: "I'm Called!!!")
Just an ordinary morning
When suddenly without warning
We heard the awful sounds of war
Our whole world seemed to be falling
We could hear our brothers calling
And our hearts how they were torn
It's a day we'll all remember
The eleventh of September
We all asked the same question, "What for?"
Yet in the midst of death and dying
There's a truth no one's denying
In God We Trust is being restored
And with the crumbling of the towers
America showed what's behind it's powers
Unity, Brotherhood, Freedom, Love and more
Deep in our hearts we are undivided
We will stand now and forever united
One Nation Under God all Sovereign and Lord
"IT'S A DAY WE'LL ALL REMEMBER"
By Clark Whittington - September 12, 2001
I wrote this on the following evening of 9/11 as I had been watching the news coverage and was just beginning to hear the many stories. GOD BLESS AMERICA!
You can't be in the battle while you are on the bottle. A baby begins to cry and the parent puts a pacifier in the babes mouth.
To many pastors/leaders have been pacifying the people of God far to long. Because when you are pacified, you don't get the power, the might or the strength that's needed to fight the battle.
Listen to me...Throw down the bottle and pick up your Bible!
Lay down the pacifiers and lift up your praise...
Get rid of the sippy cup and pick up your sword...
Because the battle is on!!!
I am white. I am a Christian. I am a pastor.
I pastor an integrated church.
I don’t love my white brothers and sisters or my black brothers and sisters…
I love my brothers and sisters.
I love America. We just celebrated on July 4th our freedom and liberty...but this week I am saddened. I hurt because racism still lurks in our nation, and it keeps us in bondage.
I wish I could tell you differently, but the reality is there is a burning anger that fills our land.
This division will only be overcome through righteousness and love. And for this to happen in our land, it must first take place in our churches.
I’m not here trying to just give a pat on the back and shrug this off, or offer an easy solution to all the ails of our culture.
The truth be told, I don’t know what all needs to be said…more than I have room for on this FB post.
But I do still believe in the power of the cross. I am not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ. It still changes lives today. It changed mine.
Someone asked this question in the Bible: “Am I my brothers’ keeper?” The answer is “Yes!” Peace my family.
In prayer this morning this is what I heard, as simple as it may sound.....
Many are wavering, weak, weary, worn and worried because they do not Worship.
"In His presence is fullness of joy...the joy of the Lord is your strength." (Psalm 16:11 and Nehemiah 8:10)
Start today with worship, the Father is looking...
He's seeking for you!!!
"They that wait (worship, serve) upon the Lord shall renew their strength... " (Isaiah 40:31)
"CAN YOU ADD?"
God is a progressive God. He adds and multiplies. Psalm 115:14 says The Lord Jehovah will ADD TO YOU, to you and to your children. Hallelujah!
There are things you add to your spiritual walk...faith, love, anointing, compassion, etc.
And know this: when we add, God will add!
When we move God will move!
GTC: WE HAVE BEEN PREPARING AND GOD IS ABOUT TO ADD TO US!
Sin came into this world from a tree with forbidden fruit.
There were three groups: 1) The tree of life, 2) The tree of knowledge of good and evil, 3) all the other trees. Adam and Eve were never able to eat from the tree of life, because cut off. BUT JESUS CAME! they ate from the tree of knowledge first, and the tree of life was Cross we celebrate... is the tree of life and Jesus is the fruit of that tree!!!"Oh taste and see that the Lord is good."(Psalm 34:8)
Jesus said "whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood will have eternal life." (John 6:54). When we observe Communion we hear the phrase "Remember me."Re-mem-ber me..... put me back together. Make me one with you! Jesus can put back together the broken pieces...broken things...broken parts of your life.He can heal your hurts.
Ask Him today. In Jesus name! Thank You Jesus for the Cross!
The psalmist David says in Psalm 122:1 "I was glad when they
said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord."
There is clear need for people to go to the House of the Lord. We need to gather there
for the fellowship. We need to come together with other believers.. We need to
experience the anointing that flows from one saint to another. We need to see that we
are not alone in this journey called life. We need to praise and worship and give thanks
to God for the blessings He gives to each of us. We must receive so that we can have
something to give to others. There is a great power in the corporate anointing. Let's get
together...as a congregation of the mighty!
(See Hebrews 10:25)
The devil relies on us to create for him. If he can influence us to use hateful, negative,
selfish, condemning, etc. words - then he can create with them.
Ephesians 4:29 "Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth but that which
is good to the use of edifying."Satan is constantly prompting you to say words that he
can use to create reality. When we speak in anger or impure speech, we empower the
devil and the demons around us. ”The power of life and death is in the tongue” (Proverbs 18:19)
Your spoken words will either build up or tear down. They serve to empower and
inspire...or to dis-empower and injure. Words are either life affirming or destructive.
For this reason we should choose our words carefully and wisely. Speak life!
